KW Dressage, owned and operated by Karen Whitman, has been in business for 20 years. During those 20 years we have been exclusively located in the Boulder, CO area. KW Dressage now operates out of Nighthawk Equestrian Center, in Longmont, CO.
Karen's love for the sport of dressage began at a young age. Her mom took her to New Lebanon Valley, NY Speedway to see the Lippizian Stallions perform. Karen was enchanted by the artistry and team work. It set the course for her lifetime passion for dressage.

Invested in building happy and trusting partnerships between horse and rider, Karen sets the foundation for success with correct basics and achievable goals.
Karen is a USDF Bronze, Silver & Gold Medalist, currently competing at the Grand Prix level. She has worked diligently to continue learning and showing at higher levels. Karen has students that have been with her for many years. All of these students have progessed through many levels of dressage. One of the reasons for this team's sucess, is that Karen enjoys their victories as much as they do. Karen enjoys teaching students that are passionate about learning, no matter what their skill level.
Karen has taken two students to the NAJYRC Championships, one gold medal and one silver medal to show off when they arrived home. Both of these students are still involved with dressage.
Karen has had the privilege of working with her long time mentor Susan Martin as well as: Lilo Fore, Conrad Schumacher and Kathy Connelly.
A large part of Karen's sucess is her love for and understanding of the horses she surrounds herself with.
